Unable to activate the license or import a license file:
The number one cause of these problems is the user not having Full Control permission over the following file and folder:
XG License file locations:
Windows Vista/7/8/10:
C:\ProgramData\CAXA\3DLib\BlockPart.qdb
XP:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\CAXA\3DLib\BlockPart.qdb (for user's running old versions)
Make sure the user has Full Control permission on that file and folder then try the activation or import again.
If the License Management Tool reports any time tampering errors:
For Named User Licenses:
1. Remove the license by clicking Remove License from within the License Management Tool.
2. Send the exportedlicense.txt and Lock ID to support@ironcad.com
3. Make sure the PC date is corrected.
4. Copy the BlockPart.qdb file (get this file from support@ironcad.com) into one of these 2 folders depending on which version of Windows you are using:
Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\CAXA\3DLib\
Windows Vista/7/8/10: C:\ProgramData\CAXA\3DLib\
5. At this point, you can activate the license via Internet or Email.
For Dongle Licenses:
1. If the dongle license reports time tampering via the Dongle License management Tool, first correct the PC date and time.
2. Contact IronCAD Support for a new license file to be imported into the dongle via the Dongle License management Tool.
How to Transfer a license from one computer to another:
To transfer a license to a new PC (you must be online during this process): On the old PC, run the License Management Tool, Remove Licenses, answer Yes to both prompts (and save the file). Then, on the new PC, you can use the License Management Tool, “Activate a Software License” to enter your serial number and codeword to activate the license.
Troubleshooting DONGLE LICENSE problems:
(What to do if IronCAD isn’t seeing the dongle)
The single lock (standalone) dongle does not need a driver, but it works like a USB-Based mouse. Some Windows installations are not set up to support a USB mouse, such as no HID compliant mouse drivers, or BIOS settings. In this case, a USB mouse probably would not work on the problem computer either. There are many ways to solve this problem on the Internet. HID Compliant mouse drivers can be downloaded from the Internet. The following is an example to solve the problem.
1. Go to the Windows Control Panel, System
2. Open Device Manager
3. Select the problem device, update driver (Under Human Interface Device)
4. No to automatically Install, no search, Choose driver to install.
5. Select USB Human Interface Device.
6. Select HID-compliant mouse
The other possible problem is that the Dongle is simply blank, to check this, run “Dongle License management Tool”:
Run the tool with the Dongle plugged in, if the dongle contains a license you should see it listed at the bottom of that screen. If no product is listed then we will need to send them a license file that can be imported onto the Dongle using the Import License button in this tool.
If the Network License Management Tool install fails to install the driver:
Make sure you have the latest version of the Network License Tool: http://download.ironcad.com/download/License/IC_Network_DongleManager_Setup.exe
Solution for network license servers with no USB port:
Senselock (the current security software provider) will eventually have a solution for this (I don't yet have a date), until then we are recommending this third-party application:
