Student and Educational License Requests

Student and Educational License Requests

For all Student License Request – Users should be directed to www.ironcad.com/student to fill out the form that will require a valid student ID to get a free 1-year free student license. They will need to repeat this for new versions or after the 1 year expires. Requests are typically processed within 24 hours and will be assigned to a reseller as a customer listed as "Student" in the portal. Student licenses are limited to prevent commercial usage but will be a fully functioning, node-locked IRONCAD license but will have the following limitations:
  1. All ICD drawings produced will be watermarked
  2. The Student license will not support TRANS or any Third Party Applications
  3. Any models or catalogs created in the educational product, cannot be opened in a commercial product however they can open in the EDU version for school room collaboration.

For Faculty and Institutional Licenses – The IRONCAD-EDU in the portal is the 50 user license pack for educational establishments. This is sold by the reseller and has a default 50 users, but the seat count can be adjusted up or down on a case-by-case basis as required. This is sold by the reseller so that you can support the educational establishment and ensure that training programs are in place. It also provides the reseller with a great opportunity for local brand awareness and in some cases a local training facility. The product is sold as a permanent license and support is available for it. For faculty that would like to test the product prior to engaging, they can use the 30-day trial, request a temporary license from the reseller or can be directed to request a student license (above) with a faculty ID and we will process it.

For Georgia Specific K-12 licenses – This is a program being handled by IronCAD to get IC into the high-school and middle school systems in GA with the help of curriculum created by a group from Georgia Tech (https://ampitup.gatech.edu/). The curriculum is located at https://ampitup.gatech.edu/curricula/stem-id. Currently, this is progressing in GA and can be used outside of GA since the curriculum is published and has been adopted outside of GA in limited cases. If you receive contact requesting this level of help or information, please direct it to IronCAD.
